I must admit that there was a time that a three day weekend seemed daunting without daycare to give us a break, but Finn is getting more and more fun and able to be entertained with more interactive activities. Our time this weekend flew by. There were minimal meltdowns and when they occurred, they were no fault of Finny Boy but of our poor planning. Fortunately, they were usually easily remedied. I warned everybody ahead of time that I was going to have a million Easter pictures taken and this particular plaid outfit has been planned for Easter for over a year - yes, that's right, we've had this way before Finn was even born. I'm sure you can imagine my disappointment that the look of bliss is NOT from playing with the Hoppity Boppity Bunny, but rather from the unleashing of a particularly volatile poo. So much for that outfit and 12+ months of hoping and dreaming. John was able to get a few pictures of me with Finn in this outfit, but we put him in the Command Center so John could shower and get changed and I could assemble some ridiculous Easter props and fate intervened. I really love this little plaid suit because I thought it would make him look like a little 80 year old man, but he actually looked right cute. I must admit that my first thought was how we could get John to hold him and not get any poo on him, it was not "Gee, I should probably change him". John wanted no part of the poo-dodging so we had to go with Plan B. The plaid overalls were a worthy substitute.
A rare family portrait with the help of our trusty Gorilla Pod. Getting Finn to look at the camera with no one behind it making goofy faces at the right time that the timer goes off is nothing short of a miracle. The rest of these have him looking at birds, trying to get Ellie or just wiggling around and causing a big blur.
Of course it's very bright and sunny instead of partly sunny or even overcast like it's been for a week or so and we're trying to find a happy medium between complete shadow and squinty eyes from the sun. Our little tree in the front yard worked ok.

Finn is really wanting his sunglasses so he can be as cool as Daddy.

Mommy and Boy on the deck in the pre-poo plaid suit. I had to make these black and white because I either have ferocious pink eye or really bad allergies. It looks like I rubbed handfuls of salt into my eyes and then tried to wash them out with vinegar. Not a good look for me.

Look at some of the fine prop work. We had some plastic Easter Eggs that I wanted to scatter about, but they were hinged and the plastic in the hinge was very sharp and I knew either Finn or John would do something with them that would necessitate a trip to the ER. Plus, I was in no mood for blood all over the 2nd cute outfit.

Yay for the gorilla pod. I can't figure out a good way for Levi to look at the camera either. More practice with the Gorilla Pod. Maybe we could invent something that would help parents with this? Put your thinking cap on!
