Finn's First Sushi - But Not Really

Dear Finn,

Tonight we took you out to eat some of our favorite food for the first time. Raw Fish! If you've made it this far reading the blog then seeing that we fed you a little sushi probably won't phase you. Well buddy, we didn't go all out on our first trip. We tried to give you some 'crab' but you acted paralyzed and it just fell out of your mouth without so much as a chew or even a tiny taste. You are quite definitive with what you will and will not tolerate when it comes to noms. We know you'll give sushi a whirl as you get older. The gross-out factor may even be an added benefit then. For now, we'll enjoy our trips to the sushi bar without having to sell Ellie (Eh-E dahg) to gypsies to feed the entire family. And child, I don't know what you think you're doing with that pose, but someone needs to make note of what happens when there is over exposure of ANTM while in utero.

We know that you're more apt to try new things if you get hand fed like the good little monkey you are. This is your very first nibble of edamame.

After the first bite, you were good to go.

Oh yeah, bring on the beans. We know, we'll pay for that tomorrow.

Your father and I are very impressed with your usage of the chopsticks. What's that? They make excellent nose pickers? Indeed.

Oh well thank you, but I believe you, no need to show me.

You might remember these neat trees against the darkening sky as we walked back to the car.

We liked that little park so much that I made you get your picture taken with me. Too bad we were losing daylight. But don't you worry, we'll go back again, and again, and again...

Brave mama! I've been in a sushi restaurant before and seen kids eating sushi with their parents. Very cool! Levi loves edamame...and yes, the diapers prove it sometimes! Yay for adventures in food!
