Finn is 11 Months Old!!!!!!!!!!!

That's like almost a year. A whole year. It gives me goose bumps just thinking about it. He hardly seems like a baby (except when he wants his Mama) and more like a little dude. Being a parent is so profoundly ridiculous. What have I done to deserve this wonderful creature in my life? And what has this poor creature done to get stuck with a mom like me? He's a resilient little cuss, so he should weather his childhood quite well. He does nothing amazing, yet everything he does is amazing. I never understood how those things could co-exist until he came along.

He's still in the second baby room at daycare, although he's sure to move up any time. He's got a great group of teachers and a great group of buddies that he plays with. Most of them should make the move to the next room with him. Some of his teachers have threatened to move right along with him and I think they really mean it. I find myself spending longer and longer amounts of time with Finn at daycare in the mornings. I love to see him interact with the other children. He hardly realizes I am there, which is good since he rarely has a meltdown when I leave. When he does get clingy, you can already hear him getting over it before the door has a chance to hit my tail on the way out. Dada get the short end of the stick. It seems that every time John picks up Finn after work that he has to sign an "Incident Report". Finn has usually gone head first into a wall, or over one of the plastic play houses, or some such nonsense. Doesn't seem to phase him a bit, nor us anymore. The reports are quite detailed and the care given is usually Jug Band Music*, I mean TLC, which seems to make him feel just fine. There is a line on the report about how to prevent the incident in the future and I got quite a laugh and a glimpse into the rest of my life when the teacher wrote "grow out of being a daredevil". Fat chance, Mama, he says.

It may be hard to see in the above picture, but after months of speculation, we have a tooth and a half. Ok, I'll go ahead and give it to him, there are 2 teeth. These lovelies are actually top teeth and on either side of where his middle front teeth will come in. Seems a little unusual, but what do I know? I've been on tooth patrol since about 5 months and these little buggers snuck up on me since I wasn't expecting those to come in first. It's quite amusing watching him gnaw on a fry with his one tooth. We're looking forward to expanding his food repertoire.

He's pretty much ready to walk anytime now, he loves to stand up and he scoots along with one hand for balance on anything he can find. This includes Ellie Dog. She is none too pleased with this latest development. Her world is going to be rocked. I tell her to take a number.

I'm still a little behind on posting pictures to Shutterfly from the summer, it's just that I am into editing and color correcting them a bit now so it takes considerably longer to post. This should mean better looking photos for downloading and printing so I think it's worth it. I hope to catch up this week. Famous last words.

Party prep is in full swing, I just hope August gets here soon, I'm going broke buying a gazillion presents every time I see something fun. Nothing is a necessity, or even age appropriate, but what are parents for?

Have a great week and keep your fingers crossed that I can get some pics on Shutterfly.
